Work in progress

This is a Ripple Afghan that I am currently working on. It is made from the small balls of yarn that are leftover from making Prayer Shawls. I try to keep one going at all times, especially in the cold months of the year. I have been making Ripple Afghans since the mid-1970's. I am using a size J crochet hook.

First BSJ finished!

My first BSJ is finished. I used RH Wiggles yarn and RH baby yarn, with size 6 circular needles. It went together well, but I am just glad to get it finished.

Meet my new Lobster!

This is my new friend. He is a Lobster. I met him at the Goodwill Store and he followed me home. I have since joined a great Yahoo Group called the Sistahood of the Lobstah (or something similar). I also like to collect stuffed sheep! Gives me something to count when I can't sleep!! I never had many toys when I was young, so I'm making up for it when I'm old.

Mile-A-Minute Afghan and KAL Socks

These are the socks I made for the Sockamaniac Knitalong. I don't think the lighting was good enough when this picture was taken. They look better in person!

This is one of my favorite patterns, and I have made quite a few of them. I ran out of the black yarn, and had to call on my friend, Susan K., for help. Thanks, Susan! I am working on a Ripple Afghan now using up some of the many scrap yarns I have saved. I am also trying to work on finishing up socks that I started at different times. Guess I'm just trying to play "ketchup".

Goodbye Dear Friend

Last week I lost my dear friend and constant companion, Boo Kitty. It is hard for me to function without her & it is hard for me to even write this tribute to her. She was a solid black, longhaired, 12 year old kitty. She'd been with me since she was small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I miss her terribly, but know in my heart that cats do go to heaven, and she will be there, along with all of the rest of our kitties who have gone on before, and will be waiting for me someday. Rest in Peace, pretty kitty.
